      This is a great basic recipe for some experimentation. I didn't have cocoa so used hot chocolate mix. Because of this I added 1 tsp nutmeg and a dash of cardamom to pump up the flavour a bit. Very moist. Wonderful when eaten warm. My DH and DS both loved it. Next time I'd try adding cinnamon, perhaps even cloves. I'll even buy cocoa and try the original (^:"

      this almost the same as my friend's cake, she makes it in a baking dish. I have made it heaps of times, but I have found it works better for me if I mix the stuff in a bowl first. very moist and chocolaty, I ice it with chocolate butter frosting

      I think I hate you..LOL ;-) I love this cake, it's chocolatey and moist, and so simple that I ended up making it 3 times in one week. It kept disappearing..lol. Thanks so much!

      This was alittle bitter for my taste, but it was ultra moist and easy. With the powdered frosting and the more bitter taste it reminded me of an old fashioned chocolate cake (or what I've been taught to think is an old fashioned chocolate cake- with doilie powdered sugar patterns and all). And it is in that sense i give it a high rating because of its ease and moistness and classic-ness.
