These are really good and can be eaten right out of your hand or used to enhance other dishes.

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a skillet except walnuts. Simmer for 4 minutes or until mixture spins small thread from spoon.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in walnuts. Continue stirring until syrup forms a sugar coating over the walnuts. Gently separate nuts while cooling.

Tasty! I'm a dope and I thought "spins small thread" meant the sugar would make a thread right as it dripped off the spoon . I didn't realize it referred to dripping the sugar into cold water, so I way overcooked it. But it still turned out very tasty. I made it for a salad, but we are already snacking on it.

Very easy to make. 3 stars for lack of clarity in the directions> I am glad I saw another review that mentions the sugar string test needs to be done in water. I did not add cinnamon but salted the sugared walnuts as they were cooling. Added to a salad.

Excellent and very easy to make. I made as directed except I cooked my sugar mixture about 6 to 7 minutes. Plan to add them to a spring mix salad with apples, blue cheese and white balsamic vinegarette. Update: Before I added these to our salad I decided to toast them at 250 degrees for about 40 minutes, turning them 3-4 times and they were even better. There were suggestions from our guest to cut back on the cinnamon a little bit and the vanilla. It went so well with our salad.
