Invigorating mint and freshly brewed tea go together like peanut butter and jelly...truly a match made in heaven. We too, grew up drinking this beverage...our friends grew mint in their yard and we'd eagerly pick some on each visit, then hurry home to prepare our tea. I enjoy it sweetened and minus the lemon, although a slice perched on the rim of the glass is always eye-appealing. There are recipes with alternative methods such as using peppermint flavored tea, but fresh mint is truly the way to go. If you love iced tea, don't miss this one!!

This is another fabulous "Bev" recipe! Made this for our 4th of July cookout and we loved it! It is so refreshing and the mint added so much. Used a little less than a cup of Splenda for the sweetening, otherwise made as directed. Thank you so much, Bev for sharing all your wonderful recipes!

Excellent recipe, Bev! My grandmother used to make something similar while I was growing up, and waking up this morning to an already 80-plus degree day, I found myself craving some. I'll use this recipe all summer. Thanks!

Awesome Iced Tea Bev. This is just wonderful. It is so flavorful and refreshing. I usually don't sweeten tea, hot or cold ...but this is just perfect. I used fresh mint from the garden and meyer lemons. I will be making this often for myself. Thank you so much for sharing.

This is awesome! I just tried the tea I made from this recipe and it's fabulous. I had an awful day and this just made everything better. Of course it wasn't the exact recipe, I had to work with what I had, including different teas, one type a label-less mystery tea and the other African Red Bush. I had a ton of mint because it was taking over the garden. And I used about a cup more water, 1/4 cup less sugar, and 2 extra tea bags! I don't have lemon, but it's probably 10 times better with it. Thanks for the delicious pick-me-up!

My tea has never tasted so good. Perfectly sweetened, with a touch of mint, I'll be drinking this one all summer long. Now I don't have to be embarrased to serve my tea to guests.

Delicious iced tea, Bev! Very refreshing with a wonderful minty taste.I used regular tea this time and left out the sugar and the next time I'll use green tea to see how we like that. Thanks for posting this, Bev- it's a keeper!

We are having a hot summer and this is so refreshing. Damon and I sat outside last night and drank 2 glasses. I will use this recipe all summer long, mine never had the right taste, now it does, thanks Bev!

This recipe is wonderful! I made it last night and am sipping it right now! I put too many lemons in the first glass, so it tasted a little weird at first. However, I really like it now that I left out the lemons! Since I don't like my tea very strong, I diluted it by half and reduced the sugar to 3/4 cup. So far it's perfect! Thanks!

I love this tea. I used decaf and dried mint(about 2 tbls.). I make tea often during the summer, sometimes adding some comfrey and red clover along with the mint. Thanks Bev!

I love this recipe! It is such a great twist on traditional southern sweet tea. My husband is a convert! And that is saying alot for a man from sunny virginia.

This is such a great, simple recipe- what would a summer be like without mint tea? I used Splenda in place of sugar and it turned out just perfect- or you can use 1/2 sugar & 1/2 Splenda for you super tasters who can actually taste the difference! Splitting it half and half you won't be able to! I love this receipe- thank you so much for sharing!

Excellent ice tea, we have mint growing in the garden and this sounded so refreshing, had to try it. It was delicious and so refreshing, as promised. I just made half a recipe and used just 1/4 cup of splenda, next time I will make a whole recipe and leave out the splenda, I think it'll be quite nice as a tart drink sweetened by the mint. Thanks for posting we will enjoy this all summer!!

How to change 5 minutes preparation time into 2 hours: do what I did and use a non-heat safe pitcher. It broke when I poured the tea in. The tea went down into the cutlery drawer and tupperware cabinet so I had to wash everything in there. Also the tea stained my white painted cabinets so I just finished bleaching them. Not a criticism of the recipe at all, this was my mistake! I haven't tried the tea yet. In retrospect, using a hand-blown Mexican glass pitcher was not a very smart move....

This was really great! I used Luzianne tea bags made for iced tea (so they're stronger) and only needed 2 bags. I don't like super sweet tea, so I only added about 1/4 cup sugar and then stirred in some agave (like honey but not as sweet). Definitely loved it and will make again - just short of outstanding because the mint didn't come through enough for me (I'll add more next time).

I made the tea with blackberry tea bags and sweetened with splenda. It was wonderful and so refreshing. Somehow adding the sweetener to the hot liquid improves the flavor!
