  1. Heat shortening.
  2. Mix in order listed and drop by spoonfuls into deep hot shortening.
  3. Fry until brown.
  4. Drain on absorbent paper.

Good starting point, but I added basil and garilc to flavor it.

Quick and great tasting recipe. I didn't happen to have an onion on hand so I just replaced it w/ shallots and a clove of garlic. I also added a tsp of onion powder to try and compensate. Needless to say they came out beautiful! Thanks for the recipe, I know I'll use it over and over!
