Very good! My great grandmother was full blood bohemian and she made alot of things with poppy seed. I really enjoy the flavor. These are attractive and delicious!

The recipe looks great, but the poppy seed filling instructions are missing! I was hoping to make this tonight. Thanks!

ZWT4: Excellent little morsels!! I made these for the E.E. Holiday challenge! I love poppyseeds and these did not disappoint. I will be adding these to my Xmas baking tray!

Made these delicious cookies yesterday with the kids. Big success as they loved the snail pattern. I didn't find the cloves overpowering at all. Like Saturn said, very nice tender biscuit. Thanks.

These truly are wonderful cookies. The only problem I had was that the flavour of the cloves is very overpowering. Next time I make these (soon!) I will cut the cloves back by half. Plus, I used my Poppy Seed Filling for the filling and the raisins made it hard to cut nice slices. Next time I make the filling (I can't find it here in the can) I will simply cut the raisins in half before hand. That should help. The dough for the cookies is a neat flaky, shortbread-y dough. I love the texture of it next to the grainy poppy seeds. Thanks for this neat recipe. I can't wait to show off the lovely results to the neighbours!
