"Australia's Hundreds and Thousands sandwich, made with butter and sprinkles on toasted white bread, is a simple and unexpected dessert. This recipe first appeared in our April 2011 special Sandwich Issue with author Christopher Tan's article Special Treats." Taken from SAVEUR. com and posted for ZWT.
- 1 slice white bread
- 1 tablespoon butter, softened
- rainbow candy sprinkles
- Toast the bread until medium golden brown, and cut off the crusts.
- Spread the butter on the warm bread; top with sprinkles to taste.
This was such a hit with my DGD, she loved it and rated it a 5 star for sure - I realize the sprinkles should have been multi color but she's a PINK kind of girl and insisted on these. To make it a little more special I used my Brown Sugar N Cinnamon Butter this will be my new go to when ever I have these picky little ones visiting.
For the fun and smiles it deserves 10 stars, but the taste, maybe you have to be younger to fully appreciate it. Thanks for the smiles alligirl! Made for ZWT8 visit to Australia / New Zealand.
I made it for my son. He liked it so much. But after he wanted another toast with peanut butter and the candy sprinkles. I guess it would be good also with nutella. Thanks Alli :) Made for ZWT8 for Diners, Winers and Chives
