once you find out how easy it is to make this yourself you will never buy it premade again. as with all things homemade it tastes much better as well.

Bonnie; Simple and easy to make. Just super-great. I made this recipe for a group of 16 at our GOURMET CLUB, served it with Microwaved Pita Trianges, WOW!!, also with Roasted Sweet Red Pepper Strips. Thanks much. "Uncle Bill"

Excellent!! I really easy to make hummus. I added a two tablespoons of minced fresh parsley and a dash of hot cayanne pepper to it it give it a little kick. Really good consistency though!

Simply wonderful recipe. Much better than store bought. The only thing I did was to add a little canola oil while the food process was spinning and that really made a velvety consistency.I didn't want to use extra virgin olive oil because I thought it would alter the flavor to much. I think it needs a flavorless oil. Used fresh squeezed lemon juice and freshly chopped garlic. (nothing beats fresh) No more store bought for me.

Thanks for this simple, but delicious recipe! I added a bit extra tahini and a bit less olive oil. I added extra lemon juice, but also a bit of extra water to thin it down.

Excellent. I made it in a blender and had to add more liquid; I used water instead of more lemon juice.

This is how we make hummus and it really does taste fantastic - it just gets better as it sits, too! I'm so happy that there's a way to make this delicious dip and it's so worth it when you consider how much the store varieties cost!

What can I say but wonderful! It is so nice that I can make this at home. It is just as good as the store bought. But I think this tastes better because it is fresh. I also kicked it up the second time making it with 8 garlic cloves, cayenne pepper. If you like a bit more of a bite to it. It is wonderful anyway you make it. My roommates kids beg me to make this, they don't know it is pretty healthy to. This will be our little secret!

This is better than store bought! I made my own tahini using a recipe from here since I couldn't find it at any store. I also roasted a small head of garlic and used the whole thing (we love roasted garlic). Every ingredient I used was from the 99 cent only store. I was buying a small container for over $5 at the gourmet store and this recipe made twice as much and tasted twice as good. Thank you for posting!

I have made this several times and its very easy and tasty. Last time, I accidentally opened a can of cannellini beans rather than chick peas. I went ahead and made it anyway and it was still very good, even a little creamier. I have played around with the amounts of garlic and tahini and adjusted it to my preference. One tip: save the juice from the can of chick peas and it can be used for thinning if the hummus comes out too thick.

I loved it!! For a decorative look, in the center, I added a little olive oil, a teaspoon of garlic, and diced tomatoes!! Yummy!
