- 1 (15 ounce) can chickpeas
- 1⁄2 cup roasted sunflower seeds
- 2 lemons, juice of
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1⁄4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- salt and pepper, to taste
- Drain chick peas, reserving 1/2 cup of liquid.
- Combine all ingredients in blender.
- Blend until all ingredients are smooth, adding the liquid if needed to thin.
- Drizzle with olive oil.
- Serve with triangles of warmed pita bread and fresh veggies.
