If your using this drink as a cold remedy, I would recommend substituting the sugar for local honey. Makes a big difference in the immune boosting properties.

Someone told my mother that a hot toddy was the perfect thing for a cold. I tried this recipe out on her, only using honey instead of sugar, and now its all she drinks! She refuses to take cold medicine. I'm very suspicious of her chronic cough though. Thanks again.

I made this for Christmas Spelling Bee game in the Photo Forum. I had tagged it and came down with a scratchy throat. This cleared it right up! I really liked the cinnamon and lemon. Thanks!

Holy cow! I made this when I had a cold and it cleared my sinuses right up, got rid of my headache, and warmed me up. I'll make it again, no question.

Whoo whee! That sure does warm you up! I'm not used to whiskey. So I cheated and added 1 teaspoon of sugar after it was done and I tasted it. Other wise, it warms the blood and takes the chill right out of your bones. Who would have though to cinnamon and lemon with whiskey in a hot beverage? This will stay in my cook book and I will def. make this again when they weather gets cold again. Very good winter drink.
