Made this during the Christmas holidays. Ooh la la, it was out of this world. Adapted from Southern Living.
- In a saucepan, mix together the boiling water and chocolate syrup.
- Add in the milk and stir until blended.
- Cook and stir over medium heat for 6-8 minutes or until well heated.
- Add in Kahlua; stir to combine.
- Pour into mugs or cups.
- Garnish with whipped cream.
Great on a cold night! Don't skip the whipped cream, it is essential. I made a single serving in the microwave which worked great: 1 T water, 1T + 1 t syrup, 1 c milk, 1-2 T Kahlua. Super easy and delicious! Thanks for sharing the recipe!
We had record cold weather this past weekend so I made this for my elderly parents. My daddy loves chocolate syrup and he loved this hot chocolate. It was creamy, rich and warmed our bones. The Kahlua added a great flavor. Made for Comfort Cafe 2010.
YUMMMMMMMYYYYY Comfort Cafe 2009 tag. I like this alot. It has been a while since I could partake (meds) and this is the first comfort drink I have had. Perfect chocolate and Kahlua together. I used chocolate flavored whipped cream on top. I can also see this tonite in the zero temps with a marshmallow. LOL Have to be careful to keep this away from the neighbors kids. 5 stars all the way!
