Delicious...and so quick and easy, too!! I have made this three times already because it is so darn good. I did increase the caramel and vanilla measurements to get it so that it was right for my taste. Also, I went the lazy route and mixed all of the ingredients into a 2-cup glass measuring cup. I microwaved it on "high" for 3-4 mins. until it was hot, stirring occasionally. This really hits the spot when you are looking for something to warm your insides :) *Made for Comfort Cafe*

This is so delicious! I think I'll serve this after dinner on Thanksgiving! Update: I served this in a crockpot on Thanksgiving and it was GONE before I knew it! I mean they picked up the crockpot and poured the last of it out! They LOVED it! Thank you!

It did warm me right up! So easy to make - I did it in a microwaveable measuring cup, then poured, steaming into my mug. I used Dulce de Leche Mexican style caramel and it was like having dessert!

The caramel adds just enough sweetness. We added a teaspoon of cinnamon and I forgot the vanila. Tasted great. Served up in a thermal carafe for our block parry. YUM!

NOTE for those of you with stringy caramel: Try using the brand Mrs. Richardson's Butterscotch Caramel Topping, which you can order on amazon or I buy it at my local Jewel Food Store. It completely dissolves and is flawless in this recipe!

I'm giving this recipe the Official 3-D review:

Well, after reading the reviewer who had problems, I was very curious to see how this turned out. Luckily, where we're on holiday, they have a pantry-like store within a good brisk walk and I bought caramel sauce, regular apple cider & HARD cider to try this. (Hard cider was my hubby's suggestion. LOL) We made the 1st mug in the microwave, zapped it for 4 minutes and it turned out flawlessly! We made the hard cider version in a pan over the hob and that turned out even better...but that may have been the "harder" nature of the cider! Absolutely lovely and we both enjoyed our versions, lounging in front of the fireplace and savoring each sip.

This was EXTREMELY tasty, but VERY sweet. When I 1st tasted it I got a very nostalgic feeling and enjoyed it very much. My family complained that it was too sweet to finish, although it was very good. Thanks so much! Made for Snow Queen edition of Comfort Cafe,Jan.2010.

I used apple cider and caramel ice cream topping for this and although I LOVED the flavor, the appearance of the drink was terrible.....maybe I did something wrong? The ice cream topping never blended into the cider and made big cloudy looking globs in the the mix and looked just awful. I warmed both the topping and the cider before combining and as delicious as it was, the presentation was unacceptable. I did it on the stovetop and followed the recipe exactly.....not sure what happened.

This has a great flavor and I really enjoyed it! The only problem I had was the presentation. I used caramel ice cream topping and simmered all the ingredients in a crockpot, but the caramel completely separated into "dregs" on the bottom of the bowl. No amount of mixing made it infuse. Is this typical or did I do something wrong?

This was Great! I've been looking for a good hot drink that is easy to make myself. Since i'm not a fan of the spices used in cider, this worked perfect, I Just used one of those individual bottles of apple juice which you can keep on hand for ages. My Caramel did separate alot but I used the small hard caramels, I'll Try it with a light caramel sauce next time. Thanks for Posting!

I made this for a Fall themed baby shower today, and it received rave reviews. It couldn't have been easier to make, and the results were delightful. I used one big gallon of cider, and one big jar of caramel, all poured into my crock pot. As suggested by a previous reviewer, I floated some cinnamon sticks and orange slices for effect. It was a hit! Three guests asked for the recipe. This is a keeper, for sure.
