  1. Meals in the slow cooker are a must on days that I work late. This smelled so good while cooking that DH called me at work twice to ask when this would be ready! Not only was the aroma wonderful but the flavors of the beef and jus really delivered! For health reasons I used low-sodium onion soup mix and low sodium bouillon mixed with water for the broth. I used 5lbs. beef roast and cooked it for 8 1/2 hours to a tender perfection. So many meat dishes dry out in the slow cooker but this one was perfect in texture and delicious! We'll be making this recipe often. Thanks Bobbie!!

  3. It was the best Beef Sandwich Au Jus we ever had. Except my Au Jus was very salty and I had to add water. And I also added the sauteed onions and Monterey jack cheese and omg it was just the bessst cold actually.

  4. I had the windows open today as this was cooking and people wondered what smelled so good. It was really hard to wait until tonight to eat this as is did smell good all day long!! It tasted just as good. The flavor of the au jus was good. Then I started to wonder about reducing the broth, then putting it in the refrigerator to cool and the get the grease off in the morning. So when I have a sandwich next it will be with the concentrated juice. Should be even better. Thank you for posting, I can't wait to make this for our next family get together! Made for Spring PAC 2007 game

  5. This beef roast recipe made delicious sandwiches! and great burritos and then bar-b-qued beef sandwiches and finally 1 or 2 little quesadillas ! We love it! The first time around we added grilled onions to the sandwich and some jack cheese. From there on we concocted all kinds of goodies from this one roast. That feature is wonderful for us. One cooking time and lots of meals. It freezes just fine too. Thanks for a super simple, delicious multi-meal recipe! We will be making it frequently form now on!
