Hope's Bisquick Biscuits

READY IN: 20mins
Recipe by JHope

I came up with this because I had to omit dairy from my diet due to a gassy baby and needed to be able to make a good savory biscuit without cheese. Hubby wanted it to be a bit moister, and so I also cut in some extra butter and used buttermilk. Family seems to really enjoy - hope you do too!

Loved your biscuits, & I'll definitely be making them again, for sure! They were great, as you fixed them, with the garlic butter fresh from the oven, & we had a few the next day that I opened up, spread with some butter, then sprinkled with a bit of garlic powder before toasting them slightly in the broiler! Absolutely wonderful! Thanks for sharing the recipe! [Made & reviewed for one of my adoptees in this Spring's round of Pick A Chef]

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 3 cups Bisquick
  • 3 tablespoons butter (cold)
  • 2 tablespoons dried onion (I usually don't measure, just toss it in until it looks "right")
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 14 teaspoon garlic powder (again go by your tastes)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 450.
  2. Cut cold butter into Bisquick, then mix in dried onion. Add buttermilk and stir until just combined.
  3. Combine melted butter and garlic powder in a small bowl.
  4. Drop biscuits evenly on a cookie sheet (I use Silpat, if Bisquick biscuits usually need a butter sheet then do so) and bake for 10 minute.
  5. Brush garlic butter on biscuits when they come out of the oven and serve warm.
