Hong Kong Burgers

I have no idea where the name came from but it's been in my family forever - my dad remembers my Grandma making this for him when he was a kid as a special "treat" supper! I've included the sauce recipe for the buns too - it just isn't the same without it!

WOW! Your Grandma did really good with this! It is amazingly plump and juicy. I made for 2 burgers but got 4 out of the recipe. I did give a rough chop to the bean sprouts. Didn`t do the kaiser rolls and didn`t split in three. I`m the one that removes the bread as I eat. Sorry! I did give a brushing of Recipe #424837 for a little extra kick. These are a must make!!!! Thanks. Made for ZWT 6

Ingredients Nutrition

  1. Combine burger ingredients until just combined.
  2. Shape into 10 patties.
  3. Grill for about 4 minutes, flip, and grill 4 minutes longer (depending on your grill and how fast the burgers cook).
  4. Just before the burgers are done, put a cheese slice on 5 patties until melted and remove from grill.
  5. Combine the chili sauce and the mayo to make the sauce.
  6. Cut each hamburger bun into 3 slices (think of a Big Mac bun).
  7. Place a plain patty on the bottom with some sauce, then the middle of the bun, then a cheese patty, a slice of tomato, some lettuce, put some sauce on the top bun, and put'er on top.
  8. Serve with lots of napkins!
