Oh yum, this was delicious! The buttery honey syrup with chopped nuts was so delicious hat I might use it for all my pancake, waffles and French toast recipes. Thanks for sharing your recipe, Bayhill. Made for your Week 7 win in the Football pool.
While this french toast was good, there wasn't a big difference in flavor from traditional french toast. Yet it has a lot more calories. DH was the only one who used the honey pecan topping. I tried this with an apple cinnamon pancake mix once as well.
Yum! Made this as directed but ended up having to use maple syrup because I discovered at the last minute that my honey was hard. Easy and good. Thanks Bayhill for a nice breakfast. Congrats on your Football win!
Really enjoyed this for breakfast this morning. I scaled back the recipe to serve two and did use regular maple syrup, personal preference, but otherwise made as written. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Made for your win in the football pool.
so good, and the smell alone was enough to make my mouth water
This made a great tasting and satisfying brekky/supper for DH tonight. I used a cinnamon swirl bread in place of regular. I opted not to use the honey pecan topping as DH likes his maple syrup. I was anxious to see if he noticed the difference in the coating as I normally use eggs/milk to dip bread in. He said maybe a slight difference but not alot. Darn....I had high hopes. I'm still glad I tagged and I thank you for posting. Made for 123Hits!~
Made this for New Years Day morning breakfast tody. 4 out of 5 really raved over it. My son didn't like the nuts on his french toast so I'm not counting his vote!! Great recipe. Will definitely do it again. Thanks.
This was great...easy to make and it tasted yummy! We didn't use the pecans as nobody but me likes them, but otherwise this was perfect. I was a little skeptical about the pancake mix in the batter, but it really made a nice coating on the toast! Thanks for posting and congrats on winning the football pool!
I made this french toast for hubby today and cut it down to one serving. He loved it! I took one bite, before passing the plate over to him, and it is yummy. The pancake mix (I used Bisquick) gave the toast such a nice, browned coating. This was so easy to make. The honey, butter and pecans on top were delicious! Next time I make it, I might add just a touch of cinnamon. Thanks Bayhill!
