These things are delicious! I got the recipe from a Quick Cooking magazine years ago and my hubby and I both fell in love with it.
- 236.59 ml milk (70 to 80 degrees)
- 1 egg
- 1 egg yolk (reserve white)
- 118.29 ml vegetable oil
- 29.58 ml honey
- 7.39 ml salt
- 828.06 ml bread flour
- 11.09 ml active dry yeast
- 78.07 ml sugar
- 29.58 ml melted butter
- 14.79 ml honey
- 1 egg white (from above)
- Place the first eight ingredients into the bread machine in the order suggested by your manufacturer.
- Select the "dough" cycle.
- When it's finished, turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface.
- Punch down; cover and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 24 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball.
- Place into a 13" X 9" baking pan lightly sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
- Cover and let rise 30 minues or until doubled.
- For glaze: combine sugar, butter, honey, and eggwhite. Drizzle over rolls.
- Bake at 350 for 20 -25 minutes or until golden brown.
These rolls were very good. I substituted 1/2 c. melted butter for the oil. I didn't put the sugar in the glaze. The ease of using the bread machine makes these so easy to make. Definitely a keeper!
I found it a little odd that the glaze calls for 1/3 c of sugar and a T of honey, and I did think the glaze was a bit on the sweet side. Next time I think I'll use all honey and lessen the sweetness a bit. Otherwise, very good rolls, easy, and I look forward to making them again.
You must make these rolls. I thought I had lost this recipe and Zaar came through yet again. I have been making these for YEARS and I lost my hand written recipe book this was in . They are so addictive. They are very sweet but my family of four can eat an entire pan of these by breakfast the next morning.
