I made this with my KitchenAid dough hook. I baked it in a greased loaf pan for about 30 mins. and it rose beautifully. I didn't have sea salt to add in. We all loved the taste and texture. This is in my weekly bread rotation. Thanks for sharing.
I used my bread machine on the whole wheat setting and a "light" crust. The bread turned out very dense, not sweet at all. It was OK but I wouldn't make it again.
I made this dough in my bread machine but shaped it in a loaf pan and baked in my oven using suggestions below. This was a tasty wheat bread with nice texture. I made it for my husband who is dieting and he ate a slice after several weeks of diet bread (aka marshmallow bread). He is very enthusiastic about it, as I am. I will make it again. Oh, and I didn't have dried buttermilk so I just subbed a couple tablespoons of dried milk and my oat bran supply was just shy of 1 cup so I completed my cup with wheat bran.
This is good bread! I doubled the recipe and made it by hand, getting 2 loaves and 16 rolls. The bread does not have as much volume as bread made with white flour only, but is tender and flavorful. Thank you very much for sharing this recipe with us.
I made this yesterday using the "basic" setting on my machine. My husband, a newly diagnosed diabetic, likes it very much!
