Honey Nut Cocktail Dogs

"I received this recipe from a good friend. I never would have guessed how much people would love this simple appetizer. I once showed up to a party with a different appetizer thinking people were probably getting tired of me bringing these. But it was quite the opposite. Guests were so disappointed that one went to the store to buy the ingredients so that I could make these as well."

ingredients

• 2 (8 ounce) packages crescent roll dough
• 1 (16 ounce) package mini smoked sausage (Like "Lil' Smokies")
• 1⁄2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
• 3 tablespoons brown sugar
• 3 tablespoons honey
• 1⁄2 cup finely chopped walnuts

directions

1. Unroll crescent roll dough. Separate into triangles. Cut each triangle into 3 smaller triangles or pieces. Roll a sausage in each. Place in a buttered 9 x 13 pan. In a saucepan, melt butter. Stir in honey and brown sugar. Cook until mixture begins to boil. Pour mixture over prepared sausage crescents. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 - 20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with toothpicks.
