I call this "Light" because there is more white flour than wheat flour. It is not intended to mean it's low in calories or light in color! Adapted from my Oster Bread Machine Book. Note: First ingredients listed are for a 1.5 lb. loaf. Ingredient amounts in parentheses are for a 2 lb. loaf.

Great bread for toast in the morning. Will be making this one many times again. I baked mine in the oven after using the dough cycle. Baked at 375 deg. for 30 min.

I made this on 6/1/2011 for the Baked Goods Event in the Food Photo forum.I followed the amounts listed for the 1.5 pound loaf and since I like to bake breads in the oven, only the dough cycle was used. After forming into a loaf, the dough was covered and left to rise in a warm place for one hour more. Then the bread was baked in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for 35 minutes.I barely gave the loaf enough time to cool before I cut into it and spread with some margarine, it was so good and soft with a great texture. Thanks for posting and " Keep Smiling :) "

This is an excellent bread machine recipe and is my new favorite! We have made it at least a dozen times now. As with any bread recipe, it may come out not quite as good once in a while, but with this recipe we've only had that happen once where it didn't rise properly.
