Honey Corn for the BBQ / Grill

"Recipe inspired by Recipe#146841 that I changed to make cooking on a BBQ or grill a quick and easy option. Note the preparation time includes cooling time for the butter, and you can pop back in the fridge after wrapping the corn so it is quite quick and easy to prepare."

directions

 • Place butter & honey in a cup or small bowl and microwave for around 30 seconds until just melted.
 • Stir through garlic and pepper.
 • Leave to cool 15 minutes or so in fridge.
 • (optional step) Cut ears of corn in half.
 • Brush mixture evenly over the corn and wrap in aluminium foil.
 • Cook over pre-hearted BBQ plate or grill 15-20 minutes over medium - high heat, turning often. The foil starting to turn brown is a sign it's been long enough in one position and should be turned a little.

 1. YUMMY!!! I love good corn on the cob and this recipes fits the bill. The corn came out perfectly cooked with a nice fresh crispness and the flavors were sweet and savory. I followed the recipe as written (using my Cuisinart electric grill) right down to cutting the ears of corn in half. I can't wait to make this recipe again. I'm sorry to see summer ending because I won't be able to get good ears of corn again until next summer, but I will be using this recipe often. Thanks, Peter, for another great recipe. Made for September Aus/NZ Swap.

 4. This corn is SO good!! Loved the garlic/honey/black pepper combination, perfect with the sweet corn. The smokieness from the grill really pulled this all together. Great recipe that we will be making often this summer - thanks for sharing it!

 5. This was a great recipe! This was my first time making grilled corn. It smelled divine while it was cooking! You could really smell the garlic and honey. Next time I will add a little more honey because even though you could smell it from the caramelization, we couldnt really taste the sweetness from it. Thanks for the great recipe! I will be making again!

I live close Hobart in Tasmania, a wonderful part of Australia but a little chilly in winter so be sure to book your holiday for summer! I'm self-employed in the embedded electronics area and being at home most of the day gives me plenty of time to prepare those recipes with long preparation and cooking times. As most of my clients are either interstate or overseas I get to occasionally catch up with them and enjoy their local restaurants, always nice to have someone else paying the bills!

As well as food I'm partial to the odd beer & wine, so often like to go to a local pub and catch some local bands. No need for an alarm clock in the morning, my cat Molly likes her breakfast at 8:00AM sharp and makes an effective alarm! Lately I've been starting to get into some digital photography so you might be seeing a few additional recipe shots on Zaar...
