Honey-Cinnamon Syrup

"Posted in response to a request. Clover or orange or other floral/mild honey works best. I strongly suggest you use butter, rather than margarine, as I think it simply tastes better. From the Betty Crocker website."

  1. This was so yummy! I added a little bit of almond and vanilla extract as well and it really made it.

  2. Very good.

  3. Mmmm I loved this! Made for a great change from my usual go-to, maple syrup. I had some leftover homemade pancakes in the freezer so to make one serving I cut this way down to 1 1/2 Tbsp honey, 1 Tbsp butter, 1/16 tsp cinnamon. Instead of the stovetop I just heated in the microwave for 25 seconds, stirred to melt the butter and combine and then when the pancakes were ready, reheated the syrup for about 10 seconds. Used local honey produced just a couple miles up the road. Thanks for sharing!

  4. I grew up in Montana & the honey we had was from my granddad's bees ~ Totally clover honey, & so tasty! I still get jars of clover honey from relatives up there, so that's what I used for this very simple syrup recipe! Absolutely wonderful, & so satisfying! Thanks for another keeper of a recipe! 5. This is my hubby's rating as I made the syrup for him and didn't taste it myself. He liked the cinnamon addition but he found the whole to be far too sweet. That shocked me a lot because he has a huge sweet tooth. H had made two big pancakes for dinner and couldn't eat half of the plate. The amount he used was the same as he would have used for maple syrup. Perhaps it was the honey? I used the Sue Bee brand, On the bright side this is so easy and quick that it's made in a few mins.
