This is my favorite topping for pancakes. I don't really care for maple syrup, so I found a recipe and made some slight variations. You can add more/less honey according to your taste or substitute molasses or maple syrup if you like that better.
- Melt butter in a pot on the stove.
- Remove from heat and transfer to a bowl.
- Add honey (TIP: When measuring honey, add some oil to the measure so it won't stick as much), milk and spices.
- Stir and add to whatever you desire for a sweet treat that is moderately healthy!:).
This was good, what I did to make it thicker so it was more like a syrup was after added a little more milk and honey returned it to the stove top and stirrd in a little cornstarch and I let it come to a low boil for a few seconds then I put it in my serving cup, it tasted just like a cinnamon bun
This was excellent - a very pleasant surprise! We made pancakes and, at the last minute, realized we were out of maple syrup. I found this recipe, whipped it up in a matter of minutes and now I don't know if we will ever go back to normal syrup.
This was very good. I don't like the taste of maple syrup so usually I buy those alternative flavored store bought syrups for like 4 bucks for a tiny bottle. This was great. I added a little extra cinnamon. Made and reviewed for PAC Fall 2008. Thanks :)
