This is great soup, easy to make with stuff that's most likely on hand...I followed exactly except for..added 2 cups frozen veggies instead of 1...browned meat first, and cooked on high for 4 hrs.We loved ,it will be served often in this house..Thanks for sharing.
This is going to be my veggie soup recipe from now on. I did add the potatoes and I didnt add the frozen mixed veggies because I sent DD to the store and she came back with stir fry veggies, so I left them out. But it was great with the cabbage, celery, onions, carrots and potatoes. Thanks so much!
This was good...lots of veggies. I added 2 potatoes and 2 extra carrots. Thought it needed some spicing up...just a smidge bland.
We enjoyed this soup, and loved the fact that there were so many veggies in it. I was a bit disappointed that it tasted, to me, just like beef stew, except with more liquid and less beef. I'm not sure what else I was expecting.
This is really easy and very good. I made it this morning -- doubled it actually, and added a cup of barley an hour before serving. I didn't use the potatoes or cabbage. Very tasty and satisfying. I'll make this again.
This was such a wonderful comfort meal! Didn't have tomato soup so I added one small can of tomato sauce mixed with a little water. In addition to frozen mixed veggies I also added frozen lima beans. I know the potatoes and cabbage are optional but glad I added them both. You wont even know the cabbage is there. It just cooks down but I feel it gives it a special flavor. Tried to wait 12 hours but couldn't wait past 10 and it was still excellent! Only got better as it cooked. Husband and I both loved it. Only gets better the next day.
This was the EXACT flavor I have been looking for in vegetable beef soups! My kids & 1 of their friends ate ALL of it, and they usually hate soup with vegetables in it. But this on is a hit with them and a keeper for me! Thank you for sharing Wildheart!
This soup is very good. It is so feasy to make. It reminds me of the soup my mom used to make when I was a kid. I do recommend this recipe.
