I used 2 cups of pasta sauce and only about 1/2 a cup of water as I didn't have tomato paste. I also used Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce instead of ketchup to make it sweeter...and it was! I don't like a tangy taste so this is my favorite Sloppy Joe I have had!

  1. In a large fryingpan, brown the hamburger, about 5-7 minutes. Drain.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients, except for the hamburger buns, and simmer, uncovered, for 1 hour.
  3. Place the hamburger buns face open on individual serving plates, generously spoon the hamburger mixture over the buns, and serve warm.
