Homemade Ranch Dressing/Dip

"This is fabulous! Once you've made this you won't ever want to buy another jar or packaged mix of Ranch dressing again! It's delicious on salads or used as a dip. (Be sure to use real mayonnaise...I use Hellmans...instead of salad dressing.)"

  1. Delicious! Very, very tasty. Wouldn't change a thing.

  2. EVERYONE LOVED this dressing!!! I only slightly changed to make a little more figure friendly: used 1 cup light mayo, 1/2 cup sour cream, 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (no one could tell it was lighter), Lawry's seasoning salt (in place of Accent). Also added a little dried dill weed. This is the best ranch dressing ever!!!

  3. This is AWESOME! I have to make my own dressings as one of my children is allergic to eggs. I have made many, many different ranch dressings... but not anymore... this one is IT! I use Lawry's seasoning salt instead of the Accent and cut back the garlic a little. Wonderful stuff!!

  4. This really is a great ranch dressing recipe...I made the recipe as stated and also added 3 T of sour cream to give it just a little more tang, strictly my preference....I have willingly taken a salad to work each day this week just for the dressing!!! ;)

  5. Excellent! I halved the recipe and wish now I had made the whole batch. Used Penzey's sandwich sprinkle instead of accent. Thanks for posting, I'll be making this again!

  2. Yum! I added some sour cream for tang based on another reviewer's suggestion and used Emeril Lagasse's spice mix instead of MSG or the store bought mix suggested. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/emeril-lagasse/emerils-essence-recipe/index.html <br/>Perfect! My boys used it on perogies and raw veg for lunch. Thanks so much!

My name is Nita and I am a 50 y/o grandmother of 3 beautiful children; a 13 y/o granddaughter, a 11 y/o grandson, and an 5 y/o old grandson. My daughters are 34 and 22. Yikes! Where did the years go?? I rescue wolves and have 4 of my own...my big ole furbabies. I've placed appx 30 wolves in wonderful forever homes. Hobbies include cooking/baking, reading, gardening, writing poetry and short stories, and collecting angels, lighthouses and teapots...just to name a few. One of my passions is doing my part to take care of our natural environment and one of my pet peeves...hmm...that's a tough one...ok, 2 of my pet peeves are people who litter and people who talk loudly on cell phones while eating in a restaurant or shopping in supermarkets (give us a break, folks...at least lower your voices!). I love trying new recipes and meeting people. I'm a real nature nut and adore animals, having had some very "unique" pets. I love camping, fishing and picnics. I lived in Texas for 25 yrs but have recently moved back to my hometown in Oklahoma to be near Mom. She's elderly and her health isn't good, so it was time. Through the grace of God Mom and I are now neighbors! It broke my heart to leave my two girls and their families on the coast in Texas although knowing I'm where I need to be at this time makes the transition easier. Am very much looking forward to making lots and lots of new friends here at Zaar!
