This was outstanding!!! I love spicy tomato sauce. I used tomatoes, garlic, onions, green pepper, red pepper, oregano, and basil from my garden. I want to test it for freezing. If it passes the test next weekend, I will make 10 batches for the winter. Thanks so much.
I loved this recipe!!! Ive made if a few times with awesome results, its a bit spicy for my family so i cut back on the pepper flakes a bit and i didnt use any meat ( I was using the sauce for my chicken and eggplant parm). This is now the only tomato sauce recipe I use.
This was excellent. I have so many tomatoes in the garden right now that I was struggling to get them all used. The changes I made are: I used 6 tomatoes and about 8-10 garlic cloves (I like garlic) also from our garden. I didn't have any red pepper flakes so I dashed a little tobasco sauce into it...not much though. I got about 8 cups of sauce out of it. Great flavor and nice and chunky.
