- Combine both ingredients in a bowl and stir until smooth and sticky. Makes 1 cup of brown sugar.
- To double the recipe, use 2 cups of white sugar and 1/4 cup of molasses.
I am so disappointed! I was living in country that didn't have brown sugar and I thought I invented this recipe:( Obviously, I was not the genius I thought I was but just probably read it somewhere. Thanks so much for sharing and giving me the right amounts (I think I was too heavy on the molasses in the past). This is a great way to save money and my husband's co-workers swore that the cookies I baked using this combination tasted better that those using "real" brown sugar. Thanks!
This is much cheaper than buying store bought! I found the recipe on another site, not many people know about this recipe. The recipe I found says 1 Tbl. molasses per cup of sugar for light brown sugar, and 2 Tbl. molasses for dark brown sugar. Works great, thanks!!
