Very nice cake! It is indeed moist and has a flavor rather like a pound cake or lemon-poppyseed cake. I followed the serving suggestion in the photo and enrobed it in an amaretto-laced chocolate ganache, which I thought was a really nice touch. The only suggestion I would make is that when you try this recipe, bump up the amount of amaretto that you use. I took this cake to a party (for a friend who loves amaretto so much that she even makes her own), and nobody ever guessed that it had amaretto in it; the flavor was very subtle. I think the cake can handle more moisture, so next time I'm going to try 1/2 cup.
