Holiday Punch Crock Pot Cider

This is a comfort drink that gives your Home a Beautiful Aroma. Full of spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger & cardamom. Like fruity Chai. I favor the Apple Schnapp or Buttershots if you opt for booze. You can always make it without the booze and let those that want it add it themselves. It would be fun to try the different kinds.

• Total Time: 2 hrs 10 mins
• Prep Time: 10 mins
• Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients:

Servings: 20

• ½ gallon apple cider
• 3 cups cranberry juice
• 3 water
• 6 -12 whole cloves , studded into
• 1 fresh orange
• 3 cinnamon sticks
• 1 whole nutmeg , grated
• 5 cardamom pods
• 2 pieces crystallized ginger , chunks (Check out my recipe for it # 102933)
• 3 cups apple Schnapps or 1 cup butterscotch schnapps or 1 cup rum or 1 cup spiced rum

Directions:

1. Combine all ingredients in crock pot except for the booze.
2. Heat on high for 2 hours, then keep warm on low.
3. Just before serving add booze if you want.
4. Adding water if needed.
5. Enjoy!

Oh, I forgot to rate this! I am making it again! Its sooooooooo good! I hold out the booze, to let the adults put it in. Great Hot Drink on a cold day! Kids and Adults alike LOVE this!

Fantastic. Spicy and not too sweet, a great drink for fall weather. Served today at an outdoor gathering and let each person add their choice of booze. Rum and Apple schnapps were equally as tasty. Thanks for a great hot drink. Made for beverage tag, " This Rounds on Me."

This was a big hit when I brought it to a Christmas dinner - such a big hit, the hosts kept the leftovers. :) This would not fit in my crockpot, so I omitted the water and cut back on the apple cider by a few cups. We used Skyy Spiced Vodka for the booze, adding it to individual mugs so that the children and nondrinkers could also enjoy this. I also garnished each mug by floating in a clove-studded orange wedge. Thank you for a great recipe that just might become a tradition for us (and thank you for your email help, too :))
