I got this recipe while shopping at Sams Club on a day when food demos were taking place. Wow! Quick, easy and yummy for the holidays. A family favorite now. Cook time is chill time.
- 453.59 g plain yogurt
- 2.46 ml ground nutmeg
- 59.14 ml brown sugar
- 4.92 ml vanilla extract
- 6-8 Red Delicious apples, cored and cut into 1/2 inch cubes
- 236.59 ml green grape
- Combine yogurt, nutmeg, sugar and vanilla, mixing well.
- Pour over prepared fruit, tossing to cover the apples and grapes.
- Before serving, dust with a little extra nutmeg.
The yogurt sauce had a nice flavor, with the nutmeg adding a delicious, unexpected element. I used fat-free yogurt and halved the recipe (using 3 apples), but went ahead and used the full 1 cup grapes. I think tossing in some toasted pecans would make a wonderful addition. Thanks for posting!
I hate yogurt with fruit. I used this recipe as a basic fruit salad using leftover and over ripe fruits. Although I like nutmeg I used cinnamon because I know my guys don't favor the tang the nutmeg has. I gave the recipe a very good rating because if you want an easy salad and one that is good and basic this is an excellent recipe. It is my own preference to omit the yogurt. This salad is good for cooling down spice or hot meals. I used it with an impossible pie and "Potato Slices Made Like Potato Skins" #130023. Thank you for this recipe Wineaux.
This was a hit at our Thanksgiving party! I added fresh cherries to this as well, used splenda brown sugar, and put out some pecans for those who wanted to add them. i am one who is not a fan of nutmeg but it was really good in this recipe. Thanks for posting!
