I asked my friend Hoda what this dish is called and she told me in Persian. I said, "what does that mean?" "Cucumbers and Yogurt." Well, okay.
- 32 ounces plain yogurt
- 1 large cucumber, peeled and diced (about .5 cm size)
- 1 -2 tablespoon dried dill
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- Combine all and chill while the dill softens up and flavors the dish.
Very good. Great for summer. I would say that the recipe makes twice as much if you are serving it as a side.
This was a good tzatziki sauce. I'm used to some garlic flavor and usually grated cucumbers, but this was a good recipe. I used an english cucumber so did not need to peel. Served with recipe #288061 and recipe #288407 Reviewed for PAC 2008.
