  • Combine the oat bran or oats and milk in a medium bowl and let it stand for about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the rest of the ingredients and mix it evenly. If the batter is too runny then add more oat bran, oats, or whole wheat flour until the batter becomes thicker. (If you’re making pancakes then the batter does not need to be thick.)
  • Be sure to spray the waffle iron and keep in there for about a minute, adding about 5-10 seconds longer for each waffle.
  • They are delicious topped with peanut butter, bananas and honey. Or you can top with apple sauce, whip cream drizzled with pure maple syrup.

  1. This recipe failed spectacularly. It gummed up my waffle iron and never really cooked into waffles. I tried to salvage the batter by adding eggs and sugar and cooking as pancakes but the texture was too gritty to be tasty. My husband ate his drowned in syrup but my daughter refused to touch any.

Hi- I'm almost done with my 4th year as a nutrition and fitness major at Colorado State University. I'm a fitness instructor and thoroughly love cooking and making up new recipes and creative combinations. I also enjoy modifying all time favorite foods into healthy all-natural recipes! I'm a semi-vegetarian because l still eat seafood so many of my recipes are vegetarian friendly! However, you can add meat to many of them if you so desire :) ~*LiVe* ~ *lAuGh* ~ *lOvE*~
