I made these for DH...so I cut the recipe in half...he loved the flavor but wasn't pleased with the texture...I think he thought they would be more firm...like meatballs...but he did enjoy his dinner I served them with a side of mustard and potato pancakes with applesauce...thanks for posting! :)

I can't believe no body has rated this yet. I've been making this recipe for years! It is the most requested appetizer I make. Everybody seems to shy away from sauerkraut but you've got to taste these! I first had these at the Oak Park Grill in Mansfield in the 80's (where I'm from). Make sure you rinse, drain & chop the sauerkraut finely.don't add salt (salty enough). I was surprised to see them here on recipezaar but glad. Now these wonderful sauerkraut balls can find a home. Thanx for posting Azparzych. (When were you in Mansfield)? lol
