Totally packed full of flavour with nothing being predominant, I used fresh basil and garlic chives from the garden and a sharp extra tasty vintage cheddar (though only about 3 ouces instead of 4 and garnished the left overs on the mash) I was only serving 3 but had enough for 4 or 5 so it looks like potato cakes in the morning for breakfast. Made for Pets' Cook-A-Thon in her memory.

Totally awesome, Pets!!! The additions of the herbs and especially the sour cream and cheese are worth the effort (and extra calories). The cheese adds a nice golden hue to the taters and the sour cream adds an extra creaminess. WONDERFUL recipe!

yummy! I only had fresh chives so I used more. I used 1/4 cup 2% fat milk, only 1 garlic clove, 4 tbs of fat-free sour cream, and omitted nutmeg. Thanks Pets :) Made for your cookathon

My DH and I both enjoyed these taters! I scaled the recipe down just a bit. Thanks Annelies! Made for LiveStrong.

First let me say that I expected to like these potatoes as I am a mashed potato fan. These were CRAZY good! I wandered around the garden and ended up with parsley, chives and basil as add ins. I had never had basil in mashed potatoes before. I used extra old cheddar and a pinch of nutmeg and needed very little milk.
Five stars in this house! Thanks so much for posting

I used 5 large russet potatoes. Loved the fresh herbs. Didn`t add the nutmeg and salt. No need. I did rice my potatoes so some of the skins did get tossed. Thanks for a yummy comfort side.

Delish! I made these exactly as described and they were a terrific hit with our family. We really loved the creamy texture and the addition of the herbs. Thanks Pets for a really nice side dish that we will indeed repeat often. Made for the Zaar Stars game.

Well, I knew we would love these and we did! Wouldn't change a thing: perfect flavor and consistency. I used parsley and chives as suggested in the intro description and they were delicious. Thanks much...will make these often!

These were perfect mashed potatoes! The flavors melded beautifully and my whole family enjoyed them! I used red potatoes and added an extra clove of garlic. We had a little pepper mishap (the lid came off when I was shaking it) but I was able to salvage most of the potatoes! We all loved them, thanks!

I thought these were very good potatoes. I had some chives on hand so when the picture was on the front page at zaar I knew what I should do with them. I used russet potatoes and cream instead of milk just cuz. I did omit the basil this time because I used up all I had on the chicken I was making. They were a nice change from regular mashed potatoes.

These potatoes were very tasty. I omitted the nutmeg because I didn't have any on hand. They were still good anyway. They were a nice change from plain old mashed potatoes.

Used red potatoes and made recipe as written except for nutmeg - not fond of it. Absolutely delicious! Thanks so much; I will definitely file this away to make again.
