This was a great addition to our Thanksgiving meal! I used just under 1/2 Cup of veggie oil but all of my guests loved it.
What a fantastic side dish! I steamed in two batches, then blanched the beans in ice water to stop the cooking, mixed everything together and put into the fridge until I was ready to bake. I have a feeling if you didn't blanch the beans, they could easily get over done.
GREAT caserole! I am tired of using the beans from a can, and I was not sure how to do this since the last time I did, they came out super crispy, almost like they hadn't been cooked... So, I found this one! LOVED the herbs in it, and the cheese! I will be using this one again! Thank you!
We loved the flavors in this. When I peeked into the oven at about the halfway point, I thought my beans were getting dried out, so I popped the lid on....but this might be because I used frozen petite green beans which are very thin. So next time (because I will probably use the same petite beans which I love) I will leave the dish covered for the first part of the cooking, and then uncover for only 10 minutes or so to get a little browned.
Fantastic! It disappeared and everyone asked about it! I love this alternative to the canned mix casseroles.
This was without a doubt the best green bean dish I've ever had. I was a skeptic at first, just because there were so few ingredients, but I wanted to get away from the traditional green bean casserole so I made this. Nearly everyone at the party asked for the recipe. In the future I will probably reduce the amount of oil, and use part vegetable oil mixed with part olive oil. Amazing recipe! Thanks for sharing!
Mike another winner from you! Made for AUS/NZ Swap Aug 2009. As I have a plethora of fresh green beans, and fresh herbs growing in the garden. Outstanding recipe, full of flavors and texture. Thank you fo rthis keeper.
A simple and delicious dish. I used fresh green beans. Thanks, Sydney Mike! Made for Vegetarian Recipe Swap.
Very elegant looking green been casserole. I loved the flavor of the herbs and the parmesan cheese. I would have liked to use fresh green beans, but the green beans at the store didn't look to great so I used canned beans. Another winner, SydneyMike. Made for March, 2009 Aussie/NZ Swap.
Can't go wrong with this recipe! It is delicious. I'm a big fan of green beans and am always looking for new ways to enjoy. This one is a keeper! Thanks for sharing.
