- 1182.95 ml water
- 29.58 ml fresh thyme leaves
- 2 bay leaves
- 29.58 ml fresh marjoram
- 14.79 ml fresh oregano
- 2 sprig fresh Italian parsley
- 2 slice lemon zest (about 2-inches long)
- 226.79 g onion, chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, peeled and chopped
- 1 small dried chili (or 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper)
- 10 black peppercorns
- 1 clove (whole)
- 1 small cinnamon stick
- salt, to taste
directions
- Place all ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Strain before using.
