Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine butter, sugar, cocoa and milk.
  2. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil.
  3. Boil without stiffing for 1 1/2 min.
  4. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla, oats and peanut butter.
  5. Stir until peanut butter is melted.
  6. Drop by tablespoonful onto wax paper.
  7. Chill until firm.
  8. Makes 24-36.

SOOOOO glad to find this recipe online!!!

I grew up in Henrico County. The school cafeterias would make these for dessert from time to time. LOL - my sister and I would trade off ALL the rest of our lunch for more of these!! Our local newspaper USED to have the recipe online, but I guess they've dropped the ball on it now.

Easy to make, tasty to eat, and you can't go wrong with chocolate and peanut butter! These are delicious. I made them for a bake sale at work, and they were a big hit. I'll definitely keep this recipe and make these again - thanks for sharing, Bliss!

Chocolate and peanut butter combination is fantastic! So fudgy! So easy to make! To my dismay, I didn't have any waxed paper. I used tin foil-it worked. The oatmeal texture was nice. Unfortunately, my high school cafeteria never served anything like this!
