Hemingway Special- a Caribbean Inspired Cocktail

A spin off of the "Hemingway Special" Serve in a frosty glass over ice and you are set to sample a taste of the Caribbean!

• Prep Time: 5 mins
• Cook Time: 0 mins

Ingredients:

Servings: 1

• 2 ounces white rum
• 1/4 ounce maraschino juice, can use grenadine
• 1/2 lime, juice of
• 1 ounce grapefruit juice
• 1 ounce blue curacao
• 2 ounces pineapple juice

Directions:

1. Squeeze lime juice into a shaker.
2. Add remaining ingredients and shake briefly.
3. Pour into a frosty glass filled with crushed ice.

I made a batch for 8 for a poolside party with our dinner club. (I increased the ingredients times 12 for 8 tall glasses.) To camp it up, I added umbrella straws, flamingo swizzle sticks, fresh fruit kabobs laid across the top of each glass, as well as an orange slice hanging on the rim. Very colorful, fun, and refreshing!

The grapefruit juice stood out for me. I don't know what Hawaiian Punch or a Mr Freeze taste like but I still enjoyed this drink. I made as directed and I could not taste the rum which is good as I'm still not use to rum yet. Made during * Zaar World Tour 5* 2009 game for team *Genies of Gourmet*

This tastes like a not too sweet version of Hawaiian Punch to me. It has a Very tropical fruity flavor with a pretty blue color. I used the marashino juice. Thank you for being a dear PAC Host and thank you for this special coctail.
