This is a very good Swiss Torta, the recipe was given to me years ago by a neighbor. She always brought us some when she made it.

Ingredients Nutrition


  1. Preheat oven 325 degrees.
  2. Cut up bread into cubes.
  3. Soak bread in milk.
  4. Add all ingredients, to bread and milk, mix well.
  5. Butter glass pan (9 x 14).
  6. Pour into pan.
  7. Bake about 1 hour- Puffs up when done.

this is a wonderful dish and the sherry really gives it a nice flavor . i used the pignoli and currants, this was better than dessert!

Absolutely delicious, and it couldn't have been easier to make. I used the bits of crust left over on the cutting board, along with a sprinkling of brown sugar and a couple splashes of sherry, as a topping. Give this a try, it's wonderful!
