I used this to substitute heavy cream in my Chicken Pot Pie recipe (I forgot to buy the heavy cream when grocery shopping). It worked wonderfully. The only thing I did differently was to add a tablespoon of flour (I used skim milk). Thanks for posting this...it saved our meal. I will be using this recipe again.
I read the other reviews and noticed they were all used in pies and things like that. I went to make fettuccine Alfredo only to realize I forgot the heavy cream. So I googled for substitutes and stumbled upon this. I'm not going to lie I was skeptical and fully prepared to have to order pizza if this didn't work. I doubled the recipe and it worked out great. However because Alfredo sauce already has butter in it next time I will add a little less butter. I did add a little bit of flour to thicken it up a little bit. I will definitely be using this again.
I used this substitution in a pie recipe and it turned out great! I'm sure there is no real substitution for heavy cream, but this did the trick. If I'm ever without heavy cream again, I will definitely come back to this.

This really works! Used it in a quiche with great results. I use the recommended brand of margarine, so always have it on hand. Made for Spring 2013 PAC.
I'm so glad I found this!! The hubby went shopping for dinner and poor baby bought whipped cream instead of heavy whipping cream... This is going to save dinner tonight ( and a trip to the store for me) :-) THANKS FOR POSTING!!!
