  • Beat the eggs and vinegar, and place in a medium-sized saucepan.
  • Put the flour and water into a glass jar and shake vigorously until it's mixed well and there are no lumps; add to the eggs and vinegar.
  • Cook this mixture until it's thick. If it's not cooked to a thick consistency, the finished product may be runny.
  • While it's still hot, stir in the marshmallows.
  • Beat until the marshmallows are dissolved, then set aside to cool.
  • When mixture is cool, add the crushed pineapple, nuts, grapes and whipped cream. Make sure the cream is whipped really stiff so it'll hold the salad together. If you need more whipped cream, you can add it.
  • Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  • You'll think you've died and gone to heaven!

  1. The problem with this is my own. I started making this recipe. The ingredients sounded great! Unfortunately I didn't read ahead.... I assumed that there would be a cooking time involved. Wrong. There are eggs involved (I'm a believer in salmonella!), and the eggs are not cooked! Yikes. I ended up throwing out everything. Uncooked egg poses a possible scenario for salmonella. I'm sorry. I assume that the eggs we buy today are different from those of yesteryear's. I just don't think the risk of consuming raw egg is worth taking.

  2. This tasted really good, but the consistancy was different than I expected. It was pretty runny. I expected it to be fluffier. I whipped my cream to peaks, but not stiff peaks--maybe that was my problem. I may try it again later to see if it is less runny if I whip my cream more.

There I am sitting in front of the computer, one of my favorite spots in the house. When I'm not at the computer, I enjoy cooking and entertaining. See my icon? It is an old Royal typewriter. My father had one just like it that he gave me when I was in college. It had one key that stuck, but I typed all my term papers on that old thing. Whenever I see that icon I remember those happy days.
