Heavenly Fried Pies

Ingredients:

Serves: 10

Yield: 10.0 pies

• 1 cup Crisco shortening
• 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
• ½ teaspoon salt
• 2 ¾ teaspoons powdered sugar
• 1 cup buttermilk
• ½ teaspoon baking soda
• 1⁄8; teaspoon coconut extract

Directions:

1. Add flour, salt and powdered sugar into bowl.
2. Cut in shortening until the mixture is incorporated well.
3. Add baking soda to buttermilk.
4. Add to flour mixture, stirring just until moistened.
5. Roll dough into a ball and chill for 25 minutes.
6. Roll out onto floured surface and cut into 6" circles.
7. Fill with your favorite pie filling.
8. Fry until golden brown and delicious.
