Heavenly Cantaloupe Sorbet

What an amazing, easy, healthy dessert.

  1. Clean and peel cantaloupe and cut into chunks.
  2. Put half of the cantaloupe along with 1/4 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice into a blender and puree until no chunks remain.
  3. Add to ice cream maker.
  4. Repeat with the second half of each and freeze according to ice cream maker directions.
  5. If you don't have an ice cream maker you can add blended cantaloupe to a freezer safe bowl and whisk every half hour until frozen.

For ease of preparation and for taste, this gets Five Stars, but the texture was very icy. It came out more like a snow cone than a sorbet. Perhaps I churned it too long?
