I found this to be a light wheat bread, not sweet and not "yeasty". Very basic wheat bread. I have made it with walnuts and with pecans. . .both are good. See what you think! Recipe from the cookbook that came with my bread machine and I am supposed to put my ingredients in wet to dry. . . check your bread machine to make sure this is the order you are also supposed to follow (many do dry to wet). Recipe makes a 1 lb loaf
- 1 cup warm water (80 degrees F)
- 2 teaspoons oil
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon dry milk
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 1⁄3 cups bread flour
- 1⁄2 cup walnuts
- 1 3⁄4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- .Place ingredients in the ABM in the order in which your manufacturer suggests.
- Cook on whole wheat program, on light for best results.
Such a tasty bread. Like someone already pointed out, the inside is quite light and airy. I set my ABM to the dough cycle and then finished baking in my oven, to have a traditional loaf. very nice bread..I've been experimenting w/ different vegan takes on ABM recipes and tried dry coconut milk powder in this one...was nice w/ the walnuts-oh used 1 cup of recipe#404288 also( my new fav. thing w/ bread recipes)...a very moist, slighly sweet bread->mr. free-free loved it toasted...Thanks for the recipe :)
This bread was really nice! The consistency inside was light and airy. I left out the nuts and dry milk (didn't have either). I added some ground flax seed to boost the nutrition. Thank you for posting!
