I found this recipe in a cookbook entitled Grandma's Best Loved Recipes. Really quick and easy to throw together and tastes similar to baked spaghetti.

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook sausage in large skillet over medium-high heat about 5 minutes or until no longer pink, stirring to separate.
  2. Combine sauce, sausage, ricotta cheese, noodles, half the mozzarella cheese, mushrooms and bell pepper in large bowl. Spoon into a 3-quart casserole dish or 13 x 9 baking pan. Top with remaining mozzarella cheese.
  3. Bake, uncovered, about 25 minutes or until heated through.

This is a great dish. Makes plenty for two nights worth of meals for family of 4. Serve with a salad and viola! Very easy to put together. I used the cottage cheese and extra mozzarella.

It's almost like a mixed-up all-in-one lasagna. The ricotta takes away from the acidity of the spaghetti sauce. I used fresh mushrooms and added chopped onion, too. I added them plus the green peppers to the sausage as I browned it. Thanx for new family-pleasing meal!
