I thought I had a can of cream of chicken soup and I was making Crustless Chicken Pot Pie. I made this up and used it. It had a good taste to it but it was rather thin. I have the remaining mix so will play with it a bit next time I need it for a recipe.

this is awesome! i always keep a supply of this in my pantry now. it is so convenient to use (once it is made) and i can control how much i want to use - a little more or less than a can is no problem! and i feel so much better feeding this to my family. thanks a bunch, Mille®!

This is a great, healthy substitute. I used this to make recipe 31656, The Best Ever Crock Pot Lemon Pepper Chicken. I was able to find instant chicken bouillon powder (Wyler's) that is salt free. I didn't have any nonfat dry milk powder, but I had everything else, so I omitted it and used skim milk with the soup substitute to make the gravy. My recipe turned out excellent. Thanks for this healthy alternative.

Thanks so much for posting this recipe. I am recovering from a heart attack and am revamping my recipes for no or very low sodium diet restriction and this recipe will be invaluable for all those yummy winter crock pot meals and casseroles for the holidays.

Thanks so much for sharing this! I use cream soups fairly routinely, and with the low-fat varieties reaching nearly $1 per can, I'm really happy to have a cost-effective substitute. Plus, this version worked great in a casserole recipe recently. Thanks again!

This was so easy and made such a yummy addition to Better Than Chicken and Dumplings!. When my 9 month old son wanted a bite I didn't hesitate because of all the junk in canned soups. Hooray! I made half a batch and put it in a mason jar for storage...I'm sure I will keep refilling with whole batches as needed! Thanks so much for posting! Made for Healthy Choices 2008.

This is amazing, I can't believe I've been paying for the canned stuff all this time. From now on this will always be in my pantry. I used onion powder and loved it that way. It worked perfect in my chicken and rice casserole. Thank you!

WOW! This is a keeper. I put the water and dry mix together into a Tupperware gravy shaker and then cooked/whisked together until thick; then used in a casserole recipe. Don't think I will ever purchase the canned stuff again (sorry Campbells!!). Thanks for posting.

I needed cream of chicken soup for a crockpot recipe and I knew I didn't have any,so I came to "Zaar" to do a search. And came across this recipe, cut it down to make just one can. Worked great for the recipe that it was needed for. R.I.P. Miller. :)
