This bar is full of whole grains that still have a nice flavor. The flax seed and wheat germ keep this healthy with the omega fats.
- 158.51 ml honey
- 158.51 ml sugar
- 158.51 ml natural crunchy peanut butter
- 709.77 ml Wheat Chex
- 709.77 ml Rice Chex
- 59.14 ml wheat germ
- 118.29 ml flax seed
- Combine cereals, wheat germ and flax seed in a large mixing bowl, and set aside.
- IN small sauce pan over medium heat combine honey and sugar stirring constantly until sugar is crystallized. Remove from heat and add peanut butter and stir until incorporated.
- Pour peanut butter mixture over cereals in the large bowl. Stir until evenly coated. Pour mix into a 9x13-inch pan. Let set and cool completely. Cut into bars.
REALLY GOOD!!! I just used the multigrain chex (I thought it was a mix when I bought it) but it turned out well. When making it I felt like I didn't have enough "sauce" and it started to cool and harden really quickly-which made for tough stirring. So, I just threw it in the pan, pushed down and hoped for the best....well, I got the best, it came out great. I just can't decide if we should use this as a breakfast bar or a dessert!
