You can use this instead of sugar to sprinkle over hot or cold cereal, toast, etc. Adapted from the program Helping Your Child Eat Well from 3ABN. Enjoy! Be sure to use dried fruit that is not too moist and sticky or it will not grind well.

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 12 cup unsweetened coconut (if you can't find unsweetened, sweetened works well too)
  • 12 cup raw almonds
  • 12 cup dried fruit (such as raisins or dates)

  1. Place almonds and coconut in food processor and grind until very fine. Add dried fruit and process until finely chopped. Keep in a covered container or zip lock bag in fridge.
  2. Use in place of sugar over hot or cold cereal.

What a nice mix to have up in the cabinet. Was very yummy sprinkled on yogurt and am planning on trying it on oatmeal next. Thanks for the post.

I made this using some left over dried mixed berries. This is a wonderful tasty way to sweeten up oatmeal or grits. Made for 123 HITS
