Another attempt to cut down on sugar in the house. This one does use honey, though.
- 10 cups rolled oats
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1⁄4 cup honey
- 1 (10 ounce) jar apricot fruit spread (100% fruit)
- In a large bowl, mix together thoroughly by hand. Spread mixture out on a large cookie sheet and bake at 350 for about 30 minutes or until it starts to brown, stirring every 5 minutes.
- Before baking you may add other ingredients as desired: wheat germ, sunflower seeds, cinnamon -- If you would like to add dried fruit such as dried apricots or raisins, add those after it is baked.
