Tasty recipe! I have made this before using Jiffy cornbread mix, but this is a great alternative. I use veggie dogs instead of hotdogs and it comes out perfect. Thanks for posting!
I made a few changes. I used the polenta, for a heartier flavor, I used smoked Hillshire Farms Smoked Sausage instead of hot dogs (not a fan of hot dogs) and changed the oil to peanut oil. We really enjoyed the flavors and texture! It's great on a chilly day and you just want comfort food without standing in the kitchen all day. It's a keeper!
Embarrassingly, this is the first time I've ever made cornbread, but I definitely will be again because this was delicious! Love all the flavours with the veg and hot dogs. We both loved this and will definitely be making again.
I made this for breakfast, and it was great! I only had two hot dogs left, so I halved the recipe and made it a little lean on meat. The only other modification was that I added honey in place of sugar. I would add more jalapeno next time, but my tastes are on the spicier side.
We like this recipe. I did change the hot dogs to chorizo sausage and liked it that way. We didn't have wheat flour, but next time I will make sure to add that. This is very good and we will be keeping this. Update: I just figured I can make this vegetarian using soy chorizo... I'll let you know of the results.
This is a great family meal with a slight taste of jalapenos. I used all white flour and chicken sausages. Both my girls really enjoyed it. Served with a salad. Thanks for posting, this was something very different for our family!
OMG YUM! So easy and so yummy! Very verdatile with the vegies, I onlyhad 1/2 cup of onion, 1 red capsicum and some canned corn. I also used a light sprinkling of chilli flakes instead of the jalapenos and substituted vegetarian hot dogs. So simple and easy, but not quite so fast - probably took me an hour from go to whoa. Would be great with a green salad. Took me 20 minutes at 200 C in a fan-forced oven.
